Itinerario
DAY 1: Cusco – Huacawasi – Sondor
We will pick you up between 5:00 to 5:30 am. Approximately at your hotel / hostel to go to the town of Calca, where you can visit the local market to do some last minute shopping, then we will have our first breakfast. to then continue towards Lares, where we will visit the Aguas Calientes where you can enjoy the baths while our cooks prepare a wonderful lunch. After lunch we will start our 5 hour hike to the first Sondor camp (3800m). you will walk gradually uphill so that you can exercise and get used to the hike on the second day, when we reach the highest point of the trip. Once we reach our first camp in Sondor we will be cordially welcomed upon arrival. They will be ready for you to teach us the Andean weaving process and we will have the opportunity to participate in this process. On this day we will also introduce you to our truck team such as the cook and the muleteers
DAY 2: Sondor – Sacsayllame Pass – Aruray Cocha – Miski Inu – Pucara
After a nutritious breakfast we will begin the trek to the highest point, the Sacsayllame pass, which has a height of 4400m. The walk to the pass takes approximately one hour and twenty minutes and will be uphill. After we reach the highest point of the trek we will begin the descent for an hour and a half until we reach Cochapata which is a beautiful high Andean lagoon where we will stop for lunch. You will have free time to rest and recover while our cooks prepare lunch delicious for the group. Then we will continue the descent for 3 hours through a forest where you can enjoy the “Queuñas” (Polylepis), a typical tree of Peru. before reaching our second camp Pucara 3000m). A wonderful place in the middle of the landscape, where you will receive hot tea and some snacks and then take advantage of the afternoon to observe the endemic and migratory birds and hummingbirds in our primary forest.
DAY 3: Pucara – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes
This day we will say goodbye to our team that accompanied us during the Walk. Before we continue walking towards the Inca agricultural terraces of Yanahuara, where the inhabitants still cultivate the famous maize with giant grains from the Sacred Valley called “parcay maize”. From there we continue to Pachar, where we will find an Inca Trail to Ollantaytambo over the Inka terraces. On the way, we will see a small archaeological site called Choccana. We will continue to Ollantaytambo, a town in the Sacred Valley famous for being mostly preserved since the time of the Incas, we will have lunch in Ollantaytambo before boarding the 1:00 p.m. train to Aguas Calientes, and in the afternoon, you will have time to visit the natural springs of Aguas Calientes to relax and spend the night in a hotel. and then you will have dinner and while you wait for the food your guide will give you the last details for your visit to Machu Picchu
DAY 4: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco
On this day you will have two options to visit Machu Picchu 1) Continue walking for 1 hour and a half through an ascending path with several steps until you reach the entrance of the citadel or 2) Buy your bus ticket that has a value of $12 for the upload or $24 for the upload and download. Once in Machu Picchu 2,490 m we will have a guided tour of approximately 2 hours. Then they will have enough time to continue exploring the citadel on their own, in that time they will be able to go to the Intipunku (gate of the sun).
After your visit to Machu Picchu you will have to return to the town of Aguas Calientes so you can have lunch, in the town you will find many restaurants and you can choose the one you like the most. After your lunch you will have to go to the train station and board it for approximately 1 and 30 minutes to the Ollantaytambo station, there the transport will be waiting for you with your name and you will be transferred to the City of Cusco the trip lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes approximately.

Price: $479.99 per person
The time of the return train at the end of the tour is DEPENDING ON AVAILABILITY 18:20 or 19:00.
If you prefer the train return earlier we can reserve it for an additional cost of 35 dollars per person; the times you can choose are: 2:55 p.m. or 4:35 p.m. We also offer the option to book the Vistadome train at 3:40pm for an additional cost of $65 per person. Please, let us know in advance what your preferred train schedule is. We inform you that none of the reserved trains go directly to Cusco, the trains only arrive at the Ollantaytambo or Poroy stations. In any of the cases we will always guarantee the shipment of a transport that will pick them up and bring them back to Cusco.

How do you get the student discount?
The ISIC Card is NO LONGER VALID to buy the Ticket to Machu Picchu or the Inca Trail with a discount for students.

Important: Rent camping equipment with you?
Yes, in case you do not have the appropriate equipment to carry out the Walk then we can offer you for rent:
- Sleeping bags: 20 dollars per person
- Walking sticks: $10 for a pair
- Additional tents: $25 per person

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING ON YOUR LARES TREK
IMPORTANT:
- original passport
- Sleeping bag
- Immigration card (delivered on the plane upon entering Peru)
- Good backpack (smaller, better)
- Camel Back or canteen for water because the Peruvian government will no longer allow the entry of disposable plastic bottles on the Camino a Choquequirao
- Comfortable shoes for the walk (light with good soles)
WHAT TO PUT IN THE CASES FOR HORSES:
- Our horses will carry up to 6 kg of your personal items. This should include your sleeping bag and mats or floor insulation (if you bring/rent one). From us these two items weigh 3 kg.
- 2-3 wick tops
- 2-3 hiking pants
- 4 sets of underwear.
- 4 sets of socks appropriate for the walk
- 1 fleece cloth
- 1 warm jacket: it is very cold at night
