Itinerario

DAY 1.- PICK UP FROM THE AIRPORT AND CITY TOUR

A staff from our team will be there 20 minutes before your arrival in the city of Cusco. They will continuously take the transport that will take them to the corresponding hotel, in turn the HUASCAR EXPEDITIONS staff will give an informative talk about their first corresponding tour in their program for perfect acclimatization.

The city tour starts at 9:00 am in the main square where you will visit the temple of the sun or Qoricancha, which was the religious center of Cusco during the time of the Inca Empire. We will see some of the original temples that have survived, despite being integrated with the colonial architecture during Spanish rule. We will also visit the impressive Sacsayhuaman fortress that is strategically built on a hill from where you can see all of Cusco. It is famous for its huge carved stones, some of which are 9 meters or 30 feet high and weigh more than 350 tons. Qenqo, Located four kilometers northeast of the city of Cusco, has the archaeological groups of Qenqo Grande and Qenqo Chico.

Etymologically, it means labyrinth or zigzag, it fulfilled a purely religious function, finding on the outside a semicircular amphitheater with trapezoidal niches and a monolith that simulates being a puma which measures approximately six meters. Puka Pukara means “red fortress”, because the calcareous stones with which it is built have acquired the reddish coloration of the terrain, which is very abundant in iron. It is argued that it had the function of protecting Tambomachay, an important palace. Tambomachay It is located about 8 kms. To the north of Cusco and very close to the ruins of Puka Pukara, it is an archaeological site that was destined for the worship of water and so that the head of the Inca Empire could rest. This place is also called Baños del Inca. It consists of a series of aqueducts, channels and several waterfalls that run through the rocks. The surprising thing about this is that, from a main waterfall, the Incas created 2 secondary waterfalls, which are exactly the same. At the end of the tour we will leave you one block from the main square at approximately 2:30 p.m.

DAY 2.-Tour of the Sacred Valley and the connection to Aguas Calientes

We will pick you up at your hotel/hostel at 08:10. 8:30 Start your spectacular tour in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, on the way we will enjoy beautiful landscapes and small towns, we will also stop at the viewpoints of Qorao and Taray, from which we will be able to observe the mountains that pass through this valley and the Wilcanota River, or we will have time to visit the typical market of Pisac, where we can observe and buy some souvenirs made by the inhabitants with ancestral traditions, after each explanation we will go to the archaeological complex of Pisac, about 100 meters from the city of Cusco on a 1-hour trip, where we will find very important Inca buildings and platforms, because they are acclimatization areas for some Inca products from the region, which are also used as observation points. To enter the Sacred Valley, we will have a guided tour of about 2 hours here. An excursion where our bilingual guide will provide us with extensive information about the archaeological complex.

Next, we will go to the city of Urubamba, where we will have a delicious buffet lunch and typical dishes of the region in a tourist restaurant, then we will continue our journey until we reach the famous living Inca city of Ollantaytambo, where we will have a visit guided by the archaeological complex and from there we will also see the famous Tunupas that protrude from the imposing face of the god of the mountain. We took the bus at the Ollantaytambo station around. (optionally we can enjoy the hot springs in this place)

DAY 3.- VISIT TO MACHU PICCHU

Very early after breakfast at the hotel we will board a bus from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu to the archaeological complex where we will immerse ourselves in our greatest Inca architecture. And the water protection model is considered one of the 7 modern buildings of impressive and incomparable beauty that we travel with approx. 2 hours with a professional guide who will give us information about our history and culture. Lots of concise heritage information as well as a comprehensive overview of our majestic Machu Picchu, after which we will have free time to explore Machu Picchu on our own. guide, in addition to photography, then we will go to the city of Aguascalientes to enjoy our quieter lunch, finally we will board the train to Ollantaytambo, our tourist bus will be waiting for us to return to the city of Cusco or transfer us to your hotel.

DAY 4.- MOUNTAIN OF COLORS

The Rainbow Mountain Tour starts at 04:00 a.m. to go south until we reach Cusipata. Place where we will enjoy a buffet breakfast, and then board our transport and travel for approximately 1 hour until we reach Phullapatawasi, the point where we will start the walk. Before starting, the guide will give us some instructions to have a calm and fun tour. However, those people who want to rent a horse to carry out the walk, can previously coordinate it with the guide.
