The Inca Jungle to Machu Picchu 4 Days, is a tour that combines hiking and cycling, ideal for people who are passionate about adventure. We will cross paths and archaeological sites similar to those found on the Inca Trail until we reach the magical town of Aguas Calientes. Finally, we will visit Machu Picchu, one of the most important and beautiful archaeological sites in the world.

Itinerario

DAY 1: Cusco – Santa María (Descent by Bicycle)

We will pick you up at 7:00 a.m. from your hotel and then we will go to Ollantaytambo where we will stop to have breakfast, then we will continue in our car for 3 hours to the starting point of the bikes called the “Airport” on our way we will pass through the Abra Málaga 4,316 masl. At the “airport” you will receive safety instructions from your guide and then he will provide you with the complete equipment necessary for this activity. We will begin the descent by bicycle for 3 hours (55km) to the town of Huamanmarca, then we will go to the town of Santa María (30 minutes by car) where we will have our first lunch; We will spend our first night in a basic lodging, during the trip we will experience the beauty of the snow-capped mountains, quickly changing from dry and cold to humid and hot. Once we arrive in Santa María we will have the option of doing class III and IV rafting (extra tour) in the Urubamba river that crosses this part of the jungle.

DAY 2: Santa Maria – Santa Teresa (walk)

After a rich breakfast, at 6:30 am. approx. we will be ready to do the first day of walking towards Santa Teresa. The first two hours of our tour will be uphill, along the way we will have several stops to learn a little more about the wealth of flora and fauna in the area where we will find ourselves, one of them will be at a family home where we we will relax for about 20 minutes here we will also be able to stock up on water and rich tropical fruits from the area, later we will cross a section of the Inca Trail that formerly connected the sacred Inca city of Machupicchu with the city of Vilcabamba here your guide will explain a little more about the history of the Incas and also the communication system they had in those times, from this place we will also have the most impressive views of the entire Huancarccasa canyon, then we will descend to the town of Quellomayo where we will stop for lunch. After a delicious lunch and a restful rest in our hammocks, we will continue with the last 02 hours of walking to the thermal baths of Cocalmayo where we will have a good time to enjoy this very special place, after the thermal baths we will go to our final destination the town of Santa Teresa where we will spend our second night in a basic lodging

DAY 3: Santa Teresa – Aguas Calientes ( Zip Line or Canopy – optional)

After our breakfast, at 7:00 am. approx. We will begin our walk towards the town of Aguas Calientes, first we will walk for 3 hours through the Aobamba valley to the sector called Intihuatana where we will pass a small government control then continue to Inka Rakay where we will enjoy our lunch on this journey we will see a series of waterfalls and we will also have the opportunity to contemplate the majestic Machupicchu and Haynapicchu mountains as well as the Intihuatana or sundial that will be seen at the top of the mountain and other constructions of the Inca citadel of Machupicchu after the last 3 hours of walking will be next to the railway line to the town of Aguas Calientes

DAY 4: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Return to Cusco

On this day you will have two options to visit Machu Picchu 1) It is to continue walking for 1 hour and a half through an ascending path with several steps until you reach the entrance of the citadel 2) Buy your bus ticket that has a value of $12 for the upload or $24 for the upload and download. Once in Machu Picchu 2,490 m you will have a guided tour of approximately 2 hours, then you will have enough time to continue exploring the citadel on your own; At that time you can go to Inti Punku (Gate of the Sun)

The time of the return train at the end of the tour is DEPENDING ON AVAILABILITY 18:20 or 19:00.

If you prefer the train return earlier we can reserve it for an additional cost of 35 dollars per person; the times you can choose are: 2:55 p.m. or 4:35 p.m. We also offer the option to book the Vistadome train at 3:40pm for an additional cost of $65 per person. Please, let us know in advance what your preferred train schedule is. We inform you that none of the reserved trains go directly to Cusco, the trains only arrive at the Ollantaytambo or Poroy stations. In any of the cases we will always guarantee the shipment of a transport that will pick them up and bring them back to Cusco.
