Itinerary
DAY 1 – Sacred Valley Tour and Connection to Aguas Calientes
We will pick you up from your hotel/hostel at 08:10. At 8:30, your spectacular journey through the Sacred Valley of the Incas begins. Along the way, we will enjoy beautiful landscapes and pass through small towns. We will also stop at the viewpoints of Qorao and Taray, from where we can observe the mountains that traverse this valley and the Wilcanota River. We will have time to visit the typical market of Pisac, where we can observe and buy some crafts made by the locals with ancestral traditions. After each explanation, we will head to the Pisac archaeological complex, located about 100 meters from the city of Cusco, a 1-hour journey. Here, we will find important Inca constructions and terraces that served as acclimatization areas for Inca products from the region, which were also used as observation points. To enter the Sacred Valley, we will have a guided tour of approximately 2 hours. It will be an excursion where our bilingual guide will provide us with extensive information about the archaeological complex.
Next, we will head to the city of Urubamba, where we will enjoy a delicious buffet lunch with typical regional dishes at a tourist restaurant. We will then continue our journey until we reach the famous living Inca city of Ollantaytambo, where we will have a guided tour of the archaeological complex. From there, we will also see the famous Tunupas that stand out from the imposing face of the mountain god. We will take the bus at the Ollantaytambo station. (Optionally, we can enjoy the thermal baths in this place)
DAY 2: Machu Picchu
Early in the morning, after breakfast at the hotel, we will board a bus from Aguas Calientes to the Machu Picchu archaeological complex, where we will immerse ourselves in the greatest Inca architecture. The water protection model is considered one of the 7 modern buildings of impressive and unparalleled beauty. We will explore it for approximately 2 hours with a professional guide who will provide us with information about our history and culture. We will receive concise information about the heritage as well as a complete description of our majestic Machu Picchu. After that, we will have free time to explore Machu Picchu on our own, take photos, and enjoy the surroundings. Then, we will head to the city of Aguas Calientes to enjoy a more relaxed lunch. Finally, we will board the train to Ollantaytambo, where our tour bus will be waiting to return to the city of Cusco or transfer you to your hotel.
